I played football because I loved it. What I didn't expect was how far ability alone would fail to take me — not because it wasn't good enough, but because there was no structure connecting a county-league talent to the scout, sponsor, or club that could do something about it.
That gap isn't a personal misfortune. It's a national one.
Thousands of young footballers, rugby players, and athletes across Kenya train hard every week with real ability and no path to the people who could change their trajectory. Their opportunity never meets the right eyes — and Kenya, and Africa more broadly, loses talent to that gap every single year.
The timing makes this urgent. In 2027, Kenya co-hosts the Africa Cup of Nations with Uganda and Tanzania — the first three-nation AFCON in history, and the first time the tournament returns to East Africa since 1976. In 2029, Nairobi will host the World Athletics Championships, the first time that event has ever been held on African soil, on the back of a team that finished 2nd in the world at the 2025 Championships in Tokyo with seven gold medals. Home advantage on this scale comes once in a generation — but a tournament on your soil only becomes opportunity for your athletes if there's a system built to see them, verify them, and put them in front of the people who can sign, sponsor, or select them.
That system doesn't exist at scale in Kenya today. Josriri is a searchable registry built for the athletes nobody is watching yet: county-league players, rising rugby sevens talent, e-sports competitors, and track athletes training without a scout in sight. With Kenya about to host the continent's biggest football tournament and the world's biggest athletics championship back to back, software like this isn't a convenience. It's necessary infrastructure.
Here is how the platform actually works today — no badges, no inflated claims.
Every profile starts as unverified, user-submitted information. A profile shows "Club verified" or "Federation verified" only after the Josriri team has confirmed it.
A parent or guardian must provide details and explicit consent before a minor is registered. Minors appear publicly only while publication consent is in place.
The public directory never shows phone numbers, emails or guardian details. Introductions are routed through Josriri.
Organisations request access and are reviewed by our team. Access is not granted automatically.
Highlight links are held for review and only published after approval. We link to videos hosted elsewhere; we don't host uploads yet.
Josriri is an early-stage platform. Data protection registration and alignment with sports regulators are in progress.
